Jeff Potter, age 34, of 692 Fred Price Road, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2005. A native of Elizabethton, Tennessee, Jeff was born on January 1, 1971 to Jim Ward of Lenoir, North Carolina and the late Helen Potter. He was a former employee of Broyhill Furniture Company. Jeff enjoyed working on cars and going fishing. He was a Veteran of Desert Storm having served in the Army National Guard. Jeff is survived by his wife, Debra Smith Potter of Elizabethton, Tennessee; two daughters, Annie Potter and Sarah Potter and their mother Rebecca Henson Potter; one step-daughter, Michelle Miller of Blowing Rock, North Carolina; his father and step-mother, Jim and Jackie Ward of Lenoir, North Carolina; three sisters: Deborah Dickens, Tammy Toledo and Jeanna Warhurst and three brothers: David Ward, Jimmy Ward and Charles Hamby. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services for Jeff Potter will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2005 from the Stone Mountain Baptist Church with Pastor Guan Guichard to officiate. Military Graveside Services will follow from the Stone Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery and will be accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard. Active Pallbearers will be family and friends of Jeff. The family will receive friends from 7-9:00 p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2005 from the Hux-Tetrick Funeral Home Chapel.
