Jefferson Prillaman

Jefferson "Pap" Prillaman, age 92, of 1901 Gentry Creek Road, Laurel Bloomery, TN passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Select Specialty Hospital in Bristol, TN. He was born July 4, 1922 to the late John Henry Prillaman and Eliza Hunt Prillaman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Leola Shuemate; one daughter, Glenna Short; two brothers, Charlie and John Henry Prillaman; one sister, Bessie Tramel. He was a member of Church of God and a member of the Bristol VFW. He was a United States Army Veteran having served in WWII . His hobbies were playing cards, telling stories, and taking trips. He was a former employee of Iron Mountain Stoneware. Survivors include: his son, Billy Prillaman and wife Cleta of Elizabethton, TN. Nephew Gary Holtsclaw. Seven grandchildren, two step grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by special friends, Dr. Donald Walters and Linda Kelly. Funeral services for Jefferson will be held Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the East Side Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Dugger officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m - 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside service and interment will be Saturday, February 28, 2015 following the funeral service at the Reece Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Jim Nidifier, Mark Kelly, Matt Scott, Brandon Cordell, Zack Porter, and Dominick Moses. Honorary Pallbearer will be Anthony Porter.
