Jerry Franklin Stanley, age 66, passed away at his home on May 4, 2026.  He was born on April 26, 1960.

Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Olivia Juanita Stanley; his father, Junior Stanley; his mother, Dorothy "Dot" Morefield; his brothers, Ronnal Stanley and Freddy Stanley; and his sisters, Wanda Friley and Betty Barnett.

He is survived by his sons, Josh Stanley and Jerrett Stanley; his daughter, Jerrica Caldwell and her husband, Robert; his cherished grandchildren, Brayden, Xavier, Averian and Asia; and his sister, Brenda Shupe and her husband, Brian.  He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Jerry was a member of Dyson Grove Baptist Church, where he especially enjoyed listening to Brother Leonard Fletcher preach.  His faith and fellowship were important parts of his life and brought him great comfort.

Born and raised in the Red Brush Community of Mountain  City, Tennessee, Jerry spent much of his life in North Carolina before returning to his hometown.  He was well known for his colorful storytelling--sharing tales that often left others laughing or shaking their heads in amazement.  One of his favorite sayings was, "if you don't believe me, just ask me."

Jerry found joy in life's simple pleasures.  He had a love for country and western decor, horses, and dogs, and he enjoyed drawing, painting, telling jokes, cooking, and tending to the flowers around his porch.

Throughout his life, Jerry worked in various factories, including in the furniture industry, and also spent time roofing.

Jerry will be remembered for his humor, creativity, and the love he shared so freely with family and friends.  The  memories he leaves behind will continue to bring comfort and smiles to all who knew and loved him.

A graveside service for Jerry will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Dyson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Brother Leonard Fletcher officiating.
