Jerry Donald Winebarger, age 58, of 321 Berry Branch Road, Mountain City, TN, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2005 at his residence following a brief illness. Jerry was a native of Watauga County, NC and was born November 15, 1946 to the late Russell Earl Winebarger, Sr. and Mattie Vurble Tester Winebarger. He was an employee of Appalachian State University in Boone, NC and was a member of Liberty Christian Church. In addition to his mother, Jerry is survived by his wife, Linda Reece Winebarger of Mountain City; one son, J. D. Winebarger of Mountain City; two sisters: Mary Lee Tester and husband Larry of Sugar Grove, NC and Jeanette Ward of Vilas, NC and one brother, Russell E. Winebarger, Jr. and wife Brenda of Vilas, NC. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Jerry will be held at 8 p. m. Tuesday, May 3, 2005 from the Henson Funeral Home chapel with Mr. Jim Hutchinson, Mr. Maurice Widener and Rev. Ray Greene to officiate. Music will be under the direction of Liberty Church Choir. Active pallbearers will be Doug Tester, Roger Winebarger, Curtis Ward, Mitchell Ward, Larry Eller, Keith Younce and Jessie South. Honorary pallbearers will be Appalachian State University employees, Liberty Christian Church Adult Men's Class and Bud Townsend. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p. m. Tuesday prior to the services at the funeral home and at other times will be at the residence at 321 Berry Branch Road, Mountain City. Graveside services and entombment will be held at 10 a. m. Wednesday, May 4, 2005 from the Sunset Mausoleum of Love in Mountain City.
