Jim Crowder

Jimmy Dale Crowder, age 72, of 207 Crowder Road, Mountain City, TN passed away Tuesday , May 27, 2014 at the Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, NC after a brief illness. He was born December 21, 1941 to the late, Manley M. Crowder and Ella Warren Crowder. He was also preceded in death by nine sisters and nine brothers: Bertha May Crowder, Tina Opal Pardue, Edna Viola Crowder, Beulah Vada Crowder, Edith Pauleen Crowder, Pauleen Crowder Greear, Trilla Crowder Norris, Mamie Crowder Adams and Dorothy Crowder Pardue, Clyde Crowder, Clarence Crowder, Otis Crowder, Orville Crowder, Wayne Crowder, Ernest Ray Crowder, Harold G. Crowder, Kermit Crowder and Delmar Crowder. He retired from Brown Brothers Construction after forty years as a heavy machine operator. His hobbies were working jigsaw puzzles, playing his guitar and he was a big Tennessee football fan and most of all spending time with his grandsons. He was a member of Roan Creek Baptist Church, as well as the church choir and YAH choir. Jim is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda Pardue Crowder. A daughter, Evelyn Allen and husband Brian, Mountain City, TN; two grandchildren, Todd Cross, Mountain City, TN and Sam Allen, Mountain City, TN. One brother, Earl Crowder and wife Earleene, Mountain City, TN. Sister-in-law: Janet Harper and husband James, Mountain City, TN; Brothers-in law: Ronnie Pardue and wife Jayne, Mountain City, TN and Terry Pardue and wife Sabrina, Springfield, TN and special nieces, Edna Miller and husband Greg and their daughter Hailey; Linda Morefield and husband Mike and their son Michael and a special nephew Edward Crowder and wife Debbie. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 pm. Saturday, May 31, 2014 from the Roan Creek Baptist Church with Pastor David Hankal and Rev. Harry Cunningham officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be 1:00 pm. until 3:00 pm. Saturday, May 31, 2014 prior to the funeral service. Active pallbearers are Brian Allen, Todd Cross, Sam Allen, Edward Crowder, Wayne Crowder, Greg Miller, Mike Morefield, and Michael Morefield. Honorary pallbearers are Bob Heck, Wade Thomas, Tom Nelson, Wes Davidson, Tommy Wallace, Willie Arnold, Junior Eastridge and Eddie Cross. Graveside service and interment will follow from the Rainbow Cemetery.
