Obituary for: Jim Woods Jim Woods, age 69, of 700 McElyea Road, Mountain City, TN passed away on Friday, May 11, 2012 in the Holston Valley Medical Center. He was born November 26, 1942 to the late Abner Woods and Mary Idell Rickman Woods. He attended Ackerson Creek Christian Church. Jim enjoyed woodworking, playing guitar, and working with small engines. He was retired from Lenoir Furniture. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers: Sam Woods, Walt Woods, Henry Woods, and Jet Woods; two sisters: Sue Ward and Betty Simpson. Survivors include: wife, Linda Laws Woods, of the home; one son: Randy Woods and wife, Jennifer, of Mountain City, TN; two daughters: Robin Miller and husband, Kenny, of Crumpler, NC and Tricia Ann Woods of the home; two sisters: Georgia Ott of Athens, AL and Lucille Gentry of Nottingham, PA; two brothers: Truman Woods and wife, Faye, and Charlie Woods and wife, Jo, both of Mountain City, TN; six grandchildren: Logan Woods, Molly Norris, Jacob Norris, Aaron Woods, Stephen Woods and Charles Miller and several nieces and nephews. Special friends Bart Wynegar, Bluefield, WV, and Steve Reece, Trade, TN, also survive. Funeral services for Jim Woods will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Mr. Bill Reece and Mr. Bart Wynegar officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Graveside service and entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum of Love. Active pallbearers will be Kenny Miller, Scott Forrester, Bo Taylor, Aaron Woods, and Logan Woods. At other times, friends may call at the residence, 700 McElyea Road, Mountain City, TN. Online condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.huxlipfordfh.com.
