Joann Allen Leyshon

Joann Allen Leyshon, age 69, of 582 Roan Creek Road, Mountain City entered into eternal rest Thursday, July 22, 2004 after a courageous battle of cancer. She was a native of Rolfe, West Virginia and was born April 21, 1935 to the late James V. and Ruth Blevins Pennington. Mrs.Leyshon was preceded in death by her first husband Lonnie Allen and her second husband, Vernon Leyshon, also a granddaughter, Mandi Joann Allen. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include a son; Mark Allen and wife Christie, of St Augustine, Florida one sister; Carol Chizmar of Charlotte, a brother; James "Junior" Pennington of Mountain City; four Grandchildren; Justin Allen, Kayla Allen, Andrew Lauer and Hank Allen and one nephew also survives. A memorial services will be held 7:00 P. M. Tuesday from the Henson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Norman to officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery Following Services. Active Pallbearers will be: Bill Dowell, Jim Timbs, Danny Herman, Roby Dunn, Bobby Brown, Justin Allen, Russell Lewis and Kerry Gentry. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Doc Walters and Malcolm Howard. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7:00 P. M. Tuesday at the Funeral Home. At other times friends may call at the residence 582 Roan Creek Road, Mountain City at Anytime.
