Joanne Stewart

Joanne Phipps Stewart, 75, went home to be with the Lord July 23, 2015. A native of West Grove, Pennsylvania, Joanne was the daughter of the late Mary Rose Davis and Clyde Russle Phipps. She was a 1957 graduate of Kennett High School in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. She later received a BA Degree from Shaw University. She had been employed by Guilford County for over thirty years. She gave of herself by volunteering and most recently volunteered with Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center Transportation Department. She has been a member of Kernersville Wesleyan Church since 1978. Survivors include her husband Jack Stewart of the home; son Donald Stewart and wife Donna; grandson William Stewart; brother Wilson Phipps and wife Marie of Mountain City, Tennessee; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. There will be a celebration of life to honor JoAnne at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 1st from the Charles B. Hux Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home in Mountain City. In lieu of flowers, contributions are asked to be made to Kernersville Wesleyan Church, 930 N. Main Street, Kernersville, NC, 27284.
