Joe Ray Keller

“Ray” Joe Keller, age 89 of Watauga County North Carolina, passed away, on Sunday, October 9, 2022 under Amorem Hospice. Born Tuesday, October 18, 1932 to the late Lillie Laws and Joe A. Keller. An addition to his parents he is proceeded in death by his wife Sarah Frances Stanton Keller, son Jimmy Dean Keller, brothers Dale, Clarence, Billy, and Commoder Keller, sisters Jeane Greene and Nell Foster. Mr. Keller is survived by his daughters Wanda Cornett (Husband Lloyd), Lillie Gaye Lowery (Late husband Hardy), sons Paul Keller (Wife Leesa), Truman Stanton (Wife Carolynn), David Lester (Wife Karen). Ray also leaves behind brother Roy Keller (Wife Janice), sisters Arlene Townsend (Husband Ron) and Ann Vines, 11 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren, along with a number of nieces and nephews. Ray, will be remembered for being a loving family man that would do anything for anyone that he could. He was a mechanic by trade that was able to work on anything, including building his own car made of wood in his garage. The Keller family will receive friends on Thursday October 13th from 1 until 2 pm at Hux Lipford Funeral Home, we will then go in procession to the Bakers Gap cemetery for graveside committal services.
