Joe I. Ward, age 86, of 2979 Lakeview Drive, Butler, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 31, 2005 at his home following a brief illness. A native of Johnson County, Tennessee, he was born on August 26, 1918 to the late James D. and Bina Rachel Moody Ward. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his brother, Lloyd Ward, who passed away in 1991. He loved to fish, going to Church and reading his Bible. Joe was a member of Dyson Grove Baptist Church. He is survived by two sisters, Ida Forrester of the home and Anna Snyder of Mountain City, Tn; three nieces: Mildred L. Pass, Betty Roberts, both of Mountain City, Tn and Evelyn Ainsworth of Butler, Tn; three nephews: Jim Pass, Danny Pass and Tom Pass, all of Butler, Tn; several great nieces and nephews and special friend Wayne Crowder. Funeral Services for Joe will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2005 from the Dyson Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Leonard Fletcher to officiate. Music will be under the direction of the Fletcher Family. Graveside Services and Interment will follow from the Dyson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Danny Pass Jr., Jason Pass, Matthew Pass, Jamie Pass, Jeffrey Pass, Jonathan Pass, Alan Pearson and Andy Lowe. Honorary Pallbearer are: Wallace Stout, Wayne Crowder, Earl Morefield, Sanford Courtner, Bill Kimberlin, Dean Fletcher, Keith Brown, Mike Fenner, Charles Campbell and Charles Fletcher. The family will receive friends from 1-3:00 p.m. Saturday, prior to Services at the Church. At other times, friends may call at the residence, 2979 Lakeview Drive, Butler, Tennessee 37640.
