Joe Williams, age 81, of 610 Stout Road, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2004 at the Johnson County Health Center following an extended illness. A native of Shouns, Tennessee, he was born on March 27, 1923 to the late James R. and Collie Greer Williams. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by three sisters, Emma Wagner, Dolly Good and Pauline Greer. He was a retired farmer and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Joe enjoyed farming and gardening. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, June Woodard Williams of the home; two sisters, Hallie Dunn and Ada Osborne, both of Mountain City and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Joe will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2004 from the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clyde Campbell and Mr. Jim Hutchinson to officiate. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. prior to Services. Graveside Services and Interment will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2004 from the Sunset Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be James Vanover, Bryce McCoy, Greg Woodard, Paul Vanover, Danny Santucci, Jimmy Bonifacino, Billy Jo Woodard and Ralph Greer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Johnson County Rescue Squad, 203 Vandilla Street, Mountain City, Tennessee.
