John Franklin Ethridge

John Ethridge, age 77, of 6263 Hwy 67 West, Mountain City, Tennessee passed away after a brief illness at the Johnson City Medical Center on Friday, March 9, 2012. He was the son of the late Claude Ethridge and Emaline Simpson Ethridge. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Catherine Carter. He was a member of the Johnson County Chamber of Commerce for thirty years and he was also in the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce. He served in the United States Army and National Guard. He was an Optician in Oak Ridge for 27 years. His hobbies were golfing and billiards. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include: his wife, Anna G. Stout Ethridge of the home; one daughter: Suzanne Redden, Oak Ridge, TN; two sons: Scott Ethridge, Oak Ridge, TN and Todd Ethridge, Knoxville, TN; one stepson: Gary Stout, Okinawa, Japan; two step-daughters: Connie Hill, Knoxville, TN and Annette Morrison, Johnson City, TN; One grandchild: Ian Redden, Oak Ridge, TN. Three brothers: Bill Ethridge and David Ethridge of Maryville, TN and Jim Ethridge of Dallas, Texas. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for John Ethridge with be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday March 12, 2012 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Hill and the Rev. Phyllis Hankins to officiate . The family will receive friends from 12:30pm - 1 p.m. on monday prior to the funeral service . Graveside service and interment will follow the funeral service from the Shoun-Goodwin Cemetery with Military honors to be accorded by The Johnson County Honor Guard . Active pallbearers will be Chamber Members and Billiard Friends. Friends may call at the residence, 6263 Hwy 67 West, Mountain City, TN at any time.
