John D. Fussell, age 87, of 207 Willow Circle, Mountain City, Tennessee. passed away Thursday, July 4th 2003 following an extended illness. Mr. Fussell was born August 7th 1915 in Olla, Louisiana, to George W. and Weltha Cupples Fussell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Fannie N. Fussell who passed away in 1997, (2) Brothers, G.W. Fussell and Dawson Fussell and a Sister, Nell Rohm. He was retired from General Motors , a U.S. Army Veteran of W.W. II and was a Methodist. Survivors: Daughter: Patsy Fussell, of the home. Sister: Irma Lea Whiddon, Ball, Louisiana Brother: Douglass, Kansas City, Missouri. Several Nieces and Nephews Hux-Lipford Funeral Home in charge of the Arrangements. Funeral services for John D. Fussell will be conducted on Sunday July 6th 2003 at *8 P.M. from the Hux-Lipford Chapel with Rev. Don Everhart to officiate. Music will be under the direction of Sherry Tester. Pallbearers will be Blake Stout, Joey Stout, Richard Halbrook, Jeff Halbrook, Norman Tester, Tim Tester, and Tom Kerley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Howard Owens, George Lowe, Harvey Burniston, Kenny Icenhour, and Danny Cullop. Graveside Services will be conducted Monday morning at 10 A.M. from the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The Family will receive friends from 6 until 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home Chapel prior to the service. Friends may call at the residence anytime. For those who desire contributions may be made to the Johnson County Rescue Squad, 203 Vandilla Street, Mountain City, Tennessee. Hux-Lipford Funeral Home in charge of the Arrangements.
