Joseph Franklin Ashley, age 55, of 1168 South Shady Street, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2005 at his residence following an extended illness. A native of Mountain City, Tennessee, he was born on December 6, 1949 to the late Edward and Marjorie Spivey Ashley. In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Carr; one brother, Lewis Ashley and one brother-in-law, Richard Phillips. He was a member of Dewey Christian Church. Joseph is survived by one son, Joey Ashley of North Carolina; five sisters: Betty Pierce and husband Kyle, Margaret Miller and husband Bernard, Thelma Phillips, Rose Mary Click and husband Andy and Shirley Shelton and husband John, all of Mountain City, Tennesse; one brother, Fred Ashley of Mountain City, Tennessee; one granddaughter, Lacy Roark of Mountain City, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews. Graveside Services and Entombment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2005 from the Sunset Mausoleum of Love with Mr. Gary Hill and Mr. Bud Gentry to officiate. Family and Friends are asked to assemble at the Cemetery by 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, for Services.
