Joseph E. Wachtstetter, age 85, of 13457 Hwy 67 West, Butler, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2007 following a brief illness. He was a native of Indianapolis, Indiana, but had lived most of his life in Greenfield, Indiana. He was born on October 18, 1921, the son of the late Raymond and Ida Marie Watts Wachtstetter. In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. He was a Graduate of Pardue University. Joseph was retired from Eli Lilly Pharmaceutical, where he was employed as a Bio Chemist. He was a charter member and former treasure for the St. James Lutheran Church of Greenfield, Indiana. Joseph was a member of the Rotary Club of Greenfield, Indiana. He enjoyed working outdoors, flowers and working on crossword puzzles. Joseph was a World War II Veteran, having served in the United States Marines. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth Bair Wachtstetter, of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
