Juanita Mae Brown

Juanita Mae Brown, age 77, of Trade, TN passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014 at her residence. She was born July 7, 1936 to the late Caleb Mahala and Ethel Potter Mahala. She was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church and she enjoyed gardening, flowers, fishing and helping people. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Howard A. Brown and a brother Edgar South. Survivors include: daughters: Sherry M. Brown and Saresa R. Brown, both of Trade, TN; sons: Bill D. Brown and Terry Wayne Brown, both of Trade, TN; Bob J. Brown and wife Kim of Jonesborough, TN and Kenneth H. Brown and wife Shari of Zionsville, NC; sisters: Ogee M. Mahala Miller of Trade, TN; Wilma L. Mahala Meadows and husband Robert of Halifax, VA; Rachel O. Mahala Potter and husband "Wib" of Greensboro, NC and Lois A. Mahala Henderson of Lenoir, NC; grandchildren: Jason Brown and wife Casey; Jason Bryant; LouAnne Morgan and husband Tim; Nellie Wilson and husband Kenny; Amie Adkins and husband Chris; and six great grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews and special friend Ollie Jean Phipps also survive. Funeral services for Juanita Mahala Brown will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Evangelist Terry Baird officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Graveside service and interment will follow in Trade United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Edward Mains, Butler Reece, Richard Reece, Lynn Reece, Steve Reece and Michael Mullins. A special "Thank You" to Caris Hospice. At other times friends may call at the residence, 116 Reece Road, Trade, TN, In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Trade United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
