Juanita Gentry

December 19, 1925 — April 25, 2015

Juanita Cunningham Gentry was born on December 19, 1925, weighing a mere two pounds and defied the odds and live to be almost 90 in relatively good health until her death on April 25, 2015, in Nashville, Tn. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Ronnie Lee Gentry, and husband, Capt. Thomas W. Gentry. She is survived by two daughters; Marilyn Faye and husband Daryl Beaupre of Lima, Ohio, and Cindy and husband Alan Baker, Smyrna, TN. Two sons; Tom and wife Betty Gentry, Oak Ridge, TN. and Lonnie and wife Cathy Gentry, Lima, Ohio. Sisters and brothers; Nancy and husband Morris Nolan, Margarite Vaught, Harry and wife, Sue Cunningham, Danny and wife, Karen Cunningham, Betty Cunningham and , the late Rev. David H. Cunningham, all of Mountain City, TN, and many nieces and nephews. Grandchildren: Dillon Baker, Travis Baker and wife, Lindsay, Keith Newland, John Newland, Chris Newland, Eva Newland, Tommy and wife, Rhonda Gentry, Kathy and Col. John Cheek, Kerri Gentry, Jason Gentry, and Lindsey Gentry. Great-grandchildren: Luke Gentry Baker, Adison Steele Baker, Zoe Alexis Baker, Piper Leigh Baker, Kane Vastano, Kailey Miller, Olivia Newland, Payton Black, Joshua Gentry, Katie Cheek, Jennifer Gentry, Lauren Gentry, Kayla Gentry, Jonathan Gentry, Kori Gentry, Trinity Gentry, and many great, great grandchildren including Layla Gentry. Juanita was an Army wife and traveled extensively. She lived in Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, D.C., Tacoma, Washington, North Dakota, Georgia, and South Carolina and visited many more places. She loved reading but, most of all, her family. There was a special place in her heart and on her lap for all the grand and great grand-babies over the years. She was blessed for almost 90 years with health, a great sense of humor, quick wit, and love. She will be dearly missed here on Earth but we are comforted by the thoughts of her rejoicing in Heaven with all her loved ones. Visitation will be on Friday, May 1, 2015, from 1 to 3 and Celebration of Life at 3 at the Johnson County Funeral Home, 1141 Cold Springs Rd., Mountain City, Tn. Family will also receive visitors any time at the residence at 508 Hospital Road, Mountain City, Tn. In lieu of flowers those who desire may make donations to the Johnson County Rescue Squad, 203 Vandilla Street, Mountain City, Tn. 37683. Johnson County Funeral is serving the Gentry family.
