Juanita Hampton Phillippi

Juanita Hampton Phillippi, age 74, of 244 Tom Phillippi Road, Mountain City, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 13, 2004 in the Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness. A native of Johnson County she was born on August 30, 1929 to the late David D. and Margie Knight Hampton. Juanita retired after 20 years of service from Levi-Strauss Co. and was a faithful member of Liberty Christian Church, where she was active with the Liberty Ladies Aid. She loved to sew and loved gardening. Survivors include her two sons: Larry Reece and wife Nancy of Johnson City, Gary Reece and wife Mary of Mountain City, her sister, Lois Danner of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; two brothers: Floyd Hampton of Maryville, THP Lt. Bill Hampton of Johnson City; two granddaughters: Melinda Sue Reece of Trade and Crystal Gail Reece-Parsons of Morganton, North Carolina; her niece, Vikki Pillow of Maryville, and two nephews: Donnie Danner of Mt. Juliet, and Major Scott Danner of Scott Airforce Base in Illinois. Graveside Services for Mrs. Juanita Hampton Phillippi will be conducted on Thursday, July 15, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. from the Phillippi Cemetery with the Mr. Jim Hutchinson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-10:45 on Thursday prior to the services at Henson Funeral Home, where the family will then go in procession to the cemetery for services. Pallbearers will be: Farris Thomas, Ross Arnold, Charlie Blankenbeckler, Ronnie Pardue, Roger Fenner, Gail Fenner, Earl Price and Carl Williams.
