Juanita Belle "Nita" Simcox, age 96, of Mountain City passed away Friday, October 9, 2015 at Mountain City Care Center. She was born January 26, 1919 to the late Tom and Nettie Louise Green Simcox. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Shelton "Elderberry" Simcox and two sisters; Dorothy Fritts and Mammie Marion. Juanita attended Vaught's Gap Baptist Church. As a young girl growing up in the Cracker's Neck community she enjoyed socializing with others. She had pride in her appearance and an eye for fashion. Juanita enjoyed working outdoors. Her vegetable gardens had no weeds and she took great pride in having beautiful flowers all around the outside of her home. "She doesn't want us to grieve for her when the Lord calls her home because she would prefer to go on. But she trusts in Him, and she knows that he has a plan for all of us." Survivors include: one sister; Ruth Norris of Greensboro, NC, one brother; Rev. Bruce Simcox of Mountain City, nephew; Dirk Simcox of Mountain City, two great nephews; Dillon and Connor Simcox, both of Mountain City. Several other special nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Juanita will be conducted Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Leon Bryant. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside service will be held Sunday, October 11, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be: Doug Fritts, David Fritts, Dirk Simcox, Marvin Fritts, Aron Shull, and Eric Townsend. Honorary pallbearers are: Rev. Frank Johnson, Rev. Bruce Simcox, and Malcolm Fritts.
