Julia Kate Smith

Julia Kate Smith, age 75, of 635 Laurel Road, Mountain City, TN passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was born January 11, 1940 to the late Jade Smith and Ann Tester Smith. She enjoyed cooking and spending time gardening and canning. She attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers; Tobe Smith and Tennessee Ralph Smith. Survivors include: one sister; Pearl Marie Smith of Mountain City, one brother; Willis Paul Smith of Mountain City, special friends John L. Neatherly, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 7, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Norman and Rev. Mack Arnold officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. -2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Active pallbearers will be Johnny Arnold, Jett Arnold, Bud Slimp, Michael Stout, Danny Grindstaff, and Dan Spencer. Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Stout and John L. Neatherly. At other times friends may call the residence at 635 Laurel Road, Mountain City, TN.
