Julia Ramey Wolfe

Julia Ramey Wolfe, age 86, Mountain City, died suddenly, Saturday, July 1, 2006, in the Blount Memorial Hospital, Maryville, TN. A native of Glade Springs, VA, she was the daughter of the late Moscoe L. and Ethel Buchanan Ramey. Mrs. Wolfe was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mountain City and an owner and operator of the Western Auto Dealership in Mountain City for thirty-five years along with her devoted husband. She loved to knit and make jelly and spending time with her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, always working behind the scenes to enrich the lives of others. Survivors include her husband, Basil N. Wolfe, Sr., of the home; one brother, William S. Ramey, Lewisburg, W.VA; one son, Basil N. Wolfe, Jr. and wife Kay, Mentor, OH; one daughter, Nancy Jennings and husband Jan, Maryville, TN; one grandson, Michael N. Wolfe and wife Kathy, Granville, OH; one granddaughter, Vicky Wolfe Bender and husband Gary, Centreville, VA; great grandchildren: Bryan and Jacob Wolfe, David and Matthew Bender; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 PM, Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at First Baptist Church of Mountain City, with Rev. Thomas Gatton and Rev. Ricky Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 - 4:00 PM Wednesday, prior to the service and also Monday, 5:00 - 7:00 PM, at Hux-Lipford Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service in the Sunset Memorial Park, Mountain City. Pallbearers will be: Ray Payne, John Muse, James Lefler, Andy Dyson, Boyd Wilson, Dr. Joe Ray, Rev. Norman Reece and Rev. Harry Wills. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the Ricky Millsaps Memorial Fund, c/o First Baptist Church, 421 West Main St., Mountain City, TN 37683.
