Obituary for: Junior L. Brown Junior L. Brown, age 63, of 3799 Roan Creek Road, Mountain City, Tennessee passed away on Friday, October 8th, 2010 in the Watauga County Medical Center, Boone, N.C. following a brief illness. Junior was the son of the late Albert Brown and Nell Brown of Mountain City, Tennessee. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and was a Houseman for Appalachian State University. Junior was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved teaching kids about fishing especially his grandchildren, he also loved gardening and NASCAR, and was a big Tennessee Volunteer fan as well as Appalachian State fan. Survivors include: his wife, Linda S. Brown of the home; one daughter: Mechelle Arney and husband Dwayne of Mountain City, Tennessee; one son: Steven Brown and wife Robin of Moore, Okalahoma. mother: Nell Brown of Mountain City, Tennessee; sister: Maxine Arnold and husband Bobby Ray of Mountain City, Tennessee; grandchildren Megan and Caleb Brown and Will, Miles, and Brady Arney; several nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins; and many special friends. Funeral services for Junior L. Brown will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2010 from the Charles B Hux Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Norman officiating. Active pallbearers will be Brian Arnold, Scotty Eller, Chuck Walker, Jonathan Shull, Mike Simcox, Roby Dunn, Dan Lipford, and Kenny McQueen Honorary Pallbearers; Lewis Wilson, Jerry Mink, Edgar Eller, Tom Shull, Jim Shull, Joe Smith, Terry Shull, Bobby Ray Arnold, Larry Mink, and Charles Greer, Gary Wagner, Paul Walls, Dave Brown, and Charlie Brown. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Graveside service and interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
