Larry Richard Matheson, age 58, of 1542 Stout Branch Road, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2006 following an extended illness. He was born on March 12, 1947 in Johnson County, Tennessee, the son of the late Paul H. and Ella Jo Anderson Matheson. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Matheson. Larry was a 1966 Johnson County High School Graduate. He was a former employee of Burlington Industries and a supervisor with Diversco of Greensboro, North Carolina. Larry was a member of the Neva Volunteer Fire Department and a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed the outdoors and wagon trains. Larry is survived by his wife, Regina Matheson of the home; two daughters: Pamela Dawn Matheson and Kristy Elaine Bishop, both of Mountain City, TN; one step-daughter, Stephanie Williams of Johnson City, TN; one sister, Jo Ann Reece of Mountain City, TN; two brothers: Terry Matheson of Mountain City, TN and Gary Matheson of Shady Valley, TN and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Larry Richard Matheson will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2006 from the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Gambill to officiate. Graveside Services and Interment will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2006 from the Sunset Memorial Park, weather permitting. Active Pallbearers will be: Terry Shull, Dickie Snyder, Danny Grindstaff, Jerry Grindstaff, Keith Wilson, Jackie Ward, David Forrester and Bob Tester. Honorary Pallbearers are: Ray Morefield, Earl Shull, Dean Stout, Abe Greer, Gary Odem, Jack Arnold, Jim Snyder, Dr. Charles Cole, Dr. Jim Shine, Steven and Kent Greer and Members of the Johnson County Rescue Squad. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, prior to Services at the Funeral Home.
