Lena Gentry, age 83, of 919 Medical Park Drive, Mountain City, Tennessee, and formerly of 1311 Deer Run Road, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at the Johnson County Health Center. A native of Mountain City, she was born on January 9, 1922 to the late Charlie and Ella Bolden Shores. In addition to her parents, Lena was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Gentry; two sisters and five brothers. Lena was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, Phillip Gentry of Mountain City; five sisters: Dora Walker, Blanche Gill, both of Bristol, VA, Felcia Ward of Mountain City, TN, Hassie Mitchell of Ocean City, MD and Lonnie Victor of Sun Valley, NV; one brother, Theodore Shores of Mountain City, TN; nine step-grandchildren; one step great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews; special nephew, Billy Wayne Walker and special caregivers: Phyllis Morrison, Jackie Shupe, Katherine Bolden and Ellene Michaels. Funeral Services for Lena Gentry will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 6, 2005 from the Corinth Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Morefield and Rev. Gwyn Anderson to officiate. Music will be under the direction of the Corinth Baptist Church Choir. Graveside Services and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 7, 2005 from the Owens Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Paul Morrison, Jack Sutherland, Randy Thomas, Blake Sutherland, Jack Hutchens and Terry Reece. Honorary Pallbearers are: Glen Garr, Dr. Buddy Clayton, Bob Michaels and Tom Robbins. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., prior to Services on Thursday at the Church. Family, Pallbearers and Friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery on Friday by 10:45 a.m. for Services. At other times, friends may call at the residence of son, Phillip Gentry, 1381 Deer Run Road, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683. A special thank you to the Nurses and Staff of Mountain City Care Center.
