Lennis Snyder, cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her residence in Mountain City, Tennessee, on August 16, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on December 11, 1939, in Sugar Grove, North Carolina, Lennis dedicated her life to serving others, particularly through her admirable career driving the special education bus for over 30 years and assisting in a special education class. Her compassionate nature and unwavering commitment to her students touched the lives of many families, creating lasting memories throughout her career.

Lennis was a devoted family woman, whose number one priority was the love she had for her family. She was always found cooking and baking for her loved ones, creating delicious personalized recipes that brought everyone together, especially her famous chocolate cake recipe. In addition to her culinary talents, Lennis enjoyed gardening, canning, and tending to her beloved flowers. She possessed a generous spirit, often taking care of others, including her husband, the love of her life, Allen Snyder, whom she was married to for 57 years before his passing.

She is survived by her daughter, Tracy (Pride) Arrington of Glade Spring, Virginia; her son, Kent (Kelly) Snyder of Dalton, Georgia; her grandchildren: Kiley Arrington, Kaleeb Snapp, Lil Pride Arrington, and Danielle Osborne, all of Glade Spring, Virginia; Hannah (Matt) Blackwell and Mollie (Chipper) Elrod of Dalton, Georgia; and Annie Kate (Jake) Sapp of Athens, Georgia. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Campbell Allen and Turner Blackwell of Dalton, Georgia, and Cubby Sapp of Athens, Georgia; special niece, Vickie Trivette and other nieces and nephews; special friends, Sue Bunton and high school classmate, Judy Norris also survive. 

Lennis was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Isabella Trivette; twin brother, Dennis Trivette; her brother, Dexter Trivette; and her sisters, Nellie Stephens, Blanche Carter, and Orbie Ward. 

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers, Pam Yates, Phyllis Harmon, Dixie Widener, Rebekah Lemons, and Cindy Church, for their extraordinary care and support. A special thank you is also given to Marvin Arney, Caleb Trivette, and Eric Trivette for their unwavering presence in Lennis's life. Furthermore, the family acknowledges the compassionate service provided by the Caris Hospice Nurses, Crystal Griffith, Justin Taylor, Travis Cantrell, Nikki, and Dayla, whose kindness was invaluable during her final moments.

Lennis Snyder will be remembered for her tremendous love for her family, her culinary delights, and her selflessness towards others. Her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A funeral service for Lennis will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 in the Buford Lipford Chapel at Hux & Lipford Funeral Home with Doug Vaughn and Robert Blevins to officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM prior to the funeral service. 

Pallbearers will be Lil Pride, Kaleeb Snapp, Justin Taylor, Travis Cantrell, Marvin Arney and JL Hamby.

Honorary pallbearers are Caleb Trivette, Eric Trivette and Mark Trivette.
