Leonard Whiteaker

Leonard Whiteaker, age 62, of 3016 Hwy 421 North, Mountain City, Tennessee passed away February 23, 2004. A native of Washington County, Virginia, he was born July 14, 1941 to the late Woodrow Whiteaker and to Eva Campbell Whiteaker. He was preceded in death by his father and step-daughter; Cindy Guinn. Leonard was a Veteran, having served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. He had also retired from the United States Postal Service. He enjoyed stock car racing and was an Earnhardt fan. Leonard was a member of the American Legion # 61 and the VFW # 6908. He was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Gaye Whiteaker, of the home, special Grandson; Chad Guinn, also of the home, daughter; Tammy Whiteaker of Orlando, Florida, step-daughter; Annette Cress of Mountain City, Tennessee, sister; Ann Head of Mountain City, Tennessee and several Nieces and Nephews. Military Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2004 from the Veterans Affairs National Cemetery, Mountain Home, Tennessee with Rev. Frank Woods to officiate.
