Lester Farmer, age 83, of 6856 Highway 67, Mountain City, Tenn. formerly of Morgantown West Virginia went home to be with the Lord Thursday, March 4, 2004 at his home. He was a native of Ashe County, North Carolina and was born November 26, 1920 to the late Mack and Etta Farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife Retha Nichols Farmer who passed away in l994. Mr. Farmer was a retired coal miner and lived most of his life in Morgantown, West Virginia. He loved to hunt and fish. Survivors include a son, Billy Farmer, of Mountain City ; a sister Ocie Newlan of Kentucky; a brother James Farmer of Shady Valley, Tenn. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P. M. Sunday from the Chapel of the Henson Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Walker to officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 P. M. at the funeral home chapel prior to the services. Graveside services and burial will be held at 11:00 A. M. Monday from the Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be friends and family.
