Lester Osborne

Lester Osborne, 93, of 2423 Hwy 421 North, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, April 11, 2006 following a brief illness. He was born on February 12, 1913 in Ashe County, North Carolina, to the late Roy and Maggie (Mayberry) Osborne. In addition to his parents, Lester was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Ann Sturgill and one sister, Mae Osborne Farmer. Lester was a retired Steel/Iron worker and spent a lot of his time in the western states working. He was also a retired farmer. He is survived by his wife, Ida Pearl (Campbell) Osborne, of the home; one granddaughter, Kelly Greer of Nottingham, PA; three great grandchildren: Casey, Courtney and Cole, all of Nottingham, PA; several nieces and nephews and many, many special neighbors and friends. Funeral Services for Lester Osborne will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2006 from the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Porter and Rev. Roy Dowell to officiate. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, prior to the Service, at the funeral home chapel. Graveside Services and Interment will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 14, 2006 from the Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be: Ted Hodge, Jeff Cornett, Rick Cornett, Bob Hurd, John Younce, Lester Garland, Shane Hodge and Jamie Blondell. Honorary Pallbearers are: Dr. James Denton, Dr. Donald Tarr and Dr. Floyd Barker. At other times, friends may call at the residence, 2423 Hwy 421 North, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683.
