Lillian Christine Phillippi, 2050 Johnson Hollow Road, Mountain City, Tennessee passed away Monday, June 2, 2008 in Sycamore Shoals Hospital in Elizabethton, Tennessee after an extended illness. She was 84 years old on May 30, 2008. She was the daughter of the late Robert R. Lefler and Bessie Quesinberry Lefler. Christine was retired from Levi and she loved to work crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy, watching Wheel of Fortune, and spending time with her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and a loving sister and a member of New Hope Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Desmal Johnson on April 17, 2002.
Survivors include her son David Phillippi, granddaughter Lisa Trent and husband Jackie and family, great granddaughter Brittany Howard, great grandson David Logan Trent and her sisters, Elsie Johnson and Bea Williams, and special friends Lois and Pete Winters. Several nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews also survive.
A public graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 in the Lefler Cemetery with Rev. Doug Stidham officiating. Pallbearers will be Randy Harper, Jack Johnson, Jonathan Harper, Jackie Trent, B. J. Trent, Rodney Bailey, and Mike Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Johnson and John Robert Johnson.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Raina Sluder and her staff, Dr. Peter Tuberty, nurses and staff of Sycamore Shoals Hospital, Christy and all the Home Health Care Staff, Ray Stout and Harvey Reece of the Johnson County Rescue Squad.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Johnson County Rescue Squad, 203 Vandilla Street, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683.
