Linda "Nana Maw" Sue Dugger, 61, lost her battle with a brief illness on October 13, 2025. She was born in Dekalb, IL on December 8, 1963 to Jimmy Butler Dugger and Carolyn Sue Sellman Dugger. In April 1969, they moved to the Doe Valley community of Mountain City, TN where she grew up on the family farm. Linda loved anything with elephants and hummingbirds. She was very creative and enjoyed painting, designing jewelry, making, and writing poetry. Her most recent endeavor was creating beautiful wire jewelry pieces. She loved being outdoors and rock hunting anywhere she went. Along with her rock finds, she collected marbles and dice. She especially liked miniature trickets and would often show her new ones. She enjoyed watching movies and spending time with her partner and best friend, Jake, and their pup, Sweet Pea.
Linda had been disabled due to several back surgeries, but in her working years she took pride in being a CNA and also a millwright. When she was younger she worked at Levis and Timberland.
The family was blessed to enjoy four generations. Linda was most proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had special names for each of them. She showed love to everyone and always offered help or a place to stay. Her peanut butter fudge was the best ever.
Linda was preceded in death by her "soulmate", her husband of 11 years, Billy Dugger. Her son-in-law Marvin Roush II; son-in-law, Robbie Osborne; her parents, grandparents, several aunts and uncles, and her beloved pup, Zoey-Bug.
Those left to cherish her memory include her partner, Jake Harman of the home; children, LaVonna Roush-Baby Girl (Joey), Stephin Dunn Jr-Shine (Jerri) and Pauletta Dunn Forrester-Beau Dawn (Doug), Ginger Shoemaker, and David Cooper; grandchildren and great grandchildren,
Tessa Roush-Deloach-Cherry-Plum (Allen), Alice Roush-Deloach; Kiely Roush-Ky Baby, Oliver Roush-Chunky Monkey, Sawyer Roush, Addie Roush-Addie Boo, Teigan AShley-Tee, Bug AShley-Beetle Bug, Brianna Dunn-Breezy, Stephin Dunn III-Tripp, Emma Dunn-Floozy, Zayden Dunn, Zailee Dunn, Natalie Dunn-Nat Fly, Kandra Shelton-Kandi-Shell, Azarei Shelton, Azavia Shelton, Synthia Shelton-Synni-Sunshine, Robbie Osborne-Duce, Carlie Dunn-Buttercup, Ryker Osborne-Tonka, and two great grandchildren on the way.
A funeral service for Linda will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Rainbow Mennonite Church with Gary Gambill and Jake Harman to officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. A graveside service will follow in the Dugger Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Doug Arney, Dan Arney, Alex Slemp, Stephin Dunn, Joey Ashley, Bobby Davis and Matt Lamar.
