Linda Proffitt Hopkins

Mrs. Linda Proffitt Hopkins, age 72, of West Jefferson, NC died in the morning on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at her residence.Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Nov 4, 2018 at 3:00pm at Bald Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. John Elledge officiating.  Burial will follow in the Bald Mountain Cemetery.Mrs. Hopkins was born in Butler, TN on August 24, 1946 to the late Bruce and Mavis Fletcher Proffitt. She worked as a sales clerk at Wal-Mart in West Jefferson. She had a passion for collecting Angels. She was a loving wife, mother and sister; she will be missed by all. She was also preceded in death by a son, Everette Wayne Lunceford; a brother, Jackie Proffitt and a sister, Dorothy Stanley.The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00pm on Sunday at Bald Mountain Baptist Church.Mrs. Hopkins is survived by her husband, Allen Hopkins; three sons, Tim Hopkins, Tony Hopkins, and Anthony Hopkins all of West Jefferson; a daughter Patricia Seagle of Fleetwood; one brother, Jerry Keith Proffitt of Elizabethton; four sisters, Norma Jean Eldreth and Beverly Jean Lowe of Mountain City and Judy Brockwell and Nancy Matherly of Elizabethton; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the family, c/o Boone Family Funeral Home, PO Box 786, West Jefferson, NC 28694.Service for Mrs. Hopkins are being handled by Boone Family Funeral Home in West Jefferson, NC.At the request of the family, this obituary is a courtesy of Hux & Lipford Funeral Home.
