Linville Greene

Linville Greene, age 81, of 1833 Hwy 91 North, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at his residence following an extended illness. A native of Wilkes County, North Carolina, he was born September 18, 1922 to the late Joe and Etta Walker-Greene. In addition to his parents, Linville was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Guy-Greene; three brothers, Boss Greene, Rockford Greene and J.C. Greene and three sisters, Emma Greene, Bess Greene and Cora Marley. Linville was a former employee of Burlington Industries. He was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church and a former Deacon of New Hope Baptist Church. Linville enjoyed woodworking. He was a World War II Veteran having served in the United States Army. Linville is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Lynn Terrill of Mountain City; two sisters, Zore Marley of Wilkes County, North Carolina and Faye Ramos of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; two granddaughters, Gail Marie Lipford and husband David and Amy Terrill, all of Mountain City; two great grandchildren, Jason and Michael Lipford, both of Mountain City and three great-great grandchildren, Zane Adam Call, Sonja Marie Lipford and David Lynn Lipford. Funeral Services for Linville will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 6, 2004 from the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Woods, Rev. Ted Lewis and Rev. Doug Stidham to officiate. Music will be under the direction of Larry and Brenda Barry. The famiy will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. prior to Services at the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the Phillippi Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Jimmy Hayworth, Pete Lipford, Brad Lipford, Dayton Vanover, David Lipford, Michael Lipford and Jason Lipford. Honorary Pallbearers are: Eric Lipford, Dr. Herman A.
