Lisa Marie Hackney

We are saddened to announce the passing of Lisa Hackney, age 59, on December 28, 2024 in UNC Medical Center.  She was born May 15, 1965 in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania to the late Charles D. Mains and Jane Dunn Mains.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Alice Robinson and Nancy Brown.

Lisa was a member of South Side Freewill Baptist Church and a graduate of Johnson County High School class of 1983.  She was a cook at Mikes BBQ for years.  She enjoyed arts and crafts, watching game shows and loved talking to people and making everyone laugh.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons, Dustin Maynard and Josh Maynard; brother, David Mains; granddaughter, Sarah Nevaeh Holbrook; several nieces and nephews and many close, special friends.

A funeral service for Lisa will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2024 in the Charles B. Hux Chapel at Hux & Lipford Funeral Home with Gary Hill officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. prior to the service.  A graveside service will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
