Lois Theresa Mottern

Lois Cole Mottern, age 92, Watauga, TN went home to be with her Lord on Friday, February 24, 2012 in the Hermitage Health Nursing Home, Elizabethton, TN. She was a member of Borderview Christian Church, a native of Elizabethton, TN and a graduate of Elizabethton High School. She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil L. Mottern and her parents Charlie Cole and Lucy Newton Cole. Also, her step-mother Ressie Peeks Cole; two sisters, Alta Cole and Freda Harvey and one brother, Charles Cole, Jr. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her family and grandchildren. Survivors include two sons: Tony and wife, Marion Smith Mottern and Terry Mottern; one daughter, Linda Mottern, all of Watauga, TN; Six grandchildren: Cathy Mottern Selbert, of Elizabethton, TN, Michael Mottern and wife, Gemma of Saudi-Arabia, Chevelle Mottern Parks and husband, Glenn, Knoxville, TN, Camara Mottern Paterek and husband, Jermaine, of Georgia, Lacey McGee Sexton and husband, Nathan, and Caleb Ray, of Watauga, TN. Seven great-grandchildren: Bristol Selbert, Cody Parks, Bailey Parks, Noah Parks, Lorelei Sexton, Victoria Sexton and Evan Sexton. One sister: Christine Anderson and husband Frank of Florida. The family will receive friends on Sunday February 26, 2012 from 2-3 p.m. with funeral service to follow from the Borderview Christian Church, 1338 Bristol Hwy, Elizabethton, TN. Graveside service and interment will follow in the Mottern Cemetery. Services will be conducted by Minister Kurt Langston and Pastor Wayne Mottern. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
