Lois Gene Wilson

Mrs. Lois Gene Blankenbeckler Wilson, 90, Bluff city, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord and loved ones on Sunday, November 20, 2011. She was born in Carswell, WV on July 6, 1921 to the late Marion and Chloe May Blankenbeckler. They relocated to Mountain City, TN where she was educated at Mountain City Elementary and was a 1939 graduate of Johnson County High School. Gene had resided in Sullivan County most of her adult life. She had retired from Univac, was a member of the Retired Sperry Club, Addilynn Memorial United Methodist Church where she was in the Joy Club, and was a member of the Border City Order of Eastern Star. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Wilson; brothers, James Sherwood Blankenbeckler, Boyd Gilmer "Blackie" Blankenbeckler, Marion Harold Blankenbeckler; sisters, Frances Louise Collins and Nancy Marie Elliott. Gene is survived by her brother, Loyd Gilmer "Brownie" Blankenbeckler and wife Dorothy, of Mountain City, TN; sister, Wilma "Sue: Henley, of Johnson City, TN; sisters-in-law, Frances Blankenbeckler, of Johnson City, TN, and Stella Blankenbeckler, of Mountain City, TN; godchildren, Teddy Stevens, Robert James, and Jana James; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Laura Trent and Rev. Lloyd Jones officiating. The graveside service and interment will, be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at Sunset Memorial Park in Mountain City, TN. Pallbearers will be Richard, David, Roger and Jimmy Blankenbeckler, Scott, Edwin, and Jack Forrester, Tim Tester, Kenneth Blevins, and Paul Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Bedford, Justin Grindstaff, Charles, Earl and Kenneth Blankenbeckler, Kelly Botts, Vernon Saylor, Norman Tester, Bill Crusenberry, George Williams, Stanley Strouth, and her Sunday School Class at Addilynn Memorial United Methodist Church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and staff of Lakebridge Healthcare, Christian Care Center, and Johnson City Medical Center for their care and support during Lois' illness.
