Loretta Pearl Jenkins, age 46, of 111 Dugger Hollow Road, Butler, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2005 at her residence following a courageous battle with cancer. A native of Banner Elk, North Carolina, she was born on May 22, 1959 to the late Dorothy Smith Guy and Jim Stout of Mountain City, Tennessee. In addition to her mother, Loretta was preceded in death by one brother, Allen Smith; one niece, Brandy Courtner and one nephew, Jeff Norris. Loretta was an employee of Northeast Correctional Center. She enjoyed flowers. Loretta attended the Pleasant View Christian Church. In addition to her father, Loretta is survived by her husband, Michael "Jimmy" Jenkins of the home; one daughter, Shelly Atwood of Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee; one son, Cody Fletcher of Butler, Tennessee; three sisters: Patty Guy, Sherry Stout, both of Mountain City, Tennessee and Shelby Seats of Hampton, Tennessee; four brothers: Scotty Guy, Chris Guy, Mitchell Guy and Jimmy Stout, all of Mountain City, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews and special friends; Jim Phillips and Rose Phillips, both of Butler, Tennessee. Funeral Services for Loretta Pearl Jenkins will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2005 from the Pleasant View Christian Church with Pastor Harvey White and Pastor Les Shields to officiate. Music will be under the direction of Meagan Pardue. Graveside Services and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2005 from the Nave Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Lonnie Pleasant, Lee Pleasant, Mike Austin, Jim Phillips, Ray Jenkins, Jackie Atwood and Greg Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers are: Pam Bunting, BJ Smith and Lisa Shepherd. Family, Friends and Pallbearers are asked to assemble at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Pleasant View Christian Church, to go in procession to the Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, prior to Services, at the church. At other times, friends may call at the residence.
