Lorraine McCloud, age 69, of 221 Wilson Avenue, Mountain City, TN passed away Tuesday afternoon, September 11, 2012 in Watauga Medical Center in Boone, NC. She was born January 6, 1943 to the late John and Leah Crowder Moretz. Lorraine was a member of Nelsons Chapel Baptist Church where she was a member of the WMU and also loved working in the church nursery. She also loved cooking, reading her Bible, flowers, canning, walking and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bill McCloud; son Gary McCloud and one sister Janice Robbins. Survivors include: one son: Larry McCloud and wife Sandra of Mountain City, TN; daughter-in-law: Tammy McCloud of Mountain City, TN; two sisters: Mary Miller and husband Jimmy; and Helen Arnold and husband Bud, all of Mountain City, TN; three grandchildren: Will McCloud, Leah McCloud and Ally McCloud and several nieces and nephews. Special friends Trula Muse, Billie Ruth Tester, Jeannie Wilson, Ima Jean Payne, Nancy Brown and Donna Kerley also survive. Funeral services for Lorraine McCloud will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2012 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Icenhour and Mr. Richard Grubb officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Graveside service and interment will follow in Rainbow Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Mike Miller, Greg Miller, Jeff Miller, David Arnold, Robert Bower and Robert Robbins. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Robbins, Randy McCloud, Steve McCloud, Tim McCloud, Eddie Lambert, Dr. Donald Tarr and staff; Dr. Sobel and staff, and Johnson County Community Center staff.
