Obituary for: Loyd R. Dunn, age 73, of 278 Brown Road, Mountain City, Tennessee. Went to be with the Lord Saturday, August 23rd 2003 at the Bristol Regional Medical Center following an Brief illness. Mr. Born was born May 17th 1930 in the Forge Creek Community of Johnson County, Tennessee to the late Von and Ruth Brown Dunn. He was preceded in death by Four Brothers, Chester, Paul, Dale, and Curtis, Dunn. He was a retired Painter, and was a member of the Nelsons Chapel Baptist Church. Loyd Loved Blue Grass and Gospel Music and Played Music with the Tennessee Merry Makers in the 1940's he also loved Coon Hunting and Fishing. Survivors: Wife of 51 Years; Louella Vestal Dunn, of the home 2 Sons; Ronnie Dunn, Mountain City, Tennessee Lester Dunn, Mountain City, Tennessee. And a Special Daughter in Law; Mary G. Dunn Sister; Opal Dunn and Brother in Law Bob Jones, Mountain City, Tennessee 2 Grandsons; Chris Dunn, Mountain City, Tennessee Matthew S. Dunn Mountain City, Tennessee. Several Nieces and Nephews Hux-Lipford Funeral Home in charge of the Arrangements. Funeral services for; Loyd R. Dunn, will be conducted on Monday August 25th 2003 at *8 P.M. from the Hux-Lipford Chapel with Rev. Lonnie Denny, Rev. Frank Woods, Rev. Richard Stout, and Rev. Albert Bentley to officiate. Music will be under the direction of the Nelson Chapel Baptist Church Choir. Pallbearers will be Carl Mast, Earl Atwood, Earl Mast, Gene Brown, Kenneth Crowder, Alf Wilson, Sam Icenhour, Ross Dowell, and Paul Hammons. Honorary Pallbearers will be; Doug Hornsby. Earl Trivette, Junior Tedder, Elmer Jones, Nelson Gray, James Garland, Paul Stout, Jim Arnold, Dr. John Whitlock, Dr. William Walker, Dr. Donald Guinn, George McKenny, Harry Wills, J.R. Howard, and the Men of the Adult Men's Sunday School Class of Nelsons Chapel Baptist Church. Graveside Services will be conducted Tuesday morning at 11 A.M. from the Sunset Memorial Park . The Family will receive friends from 6 until 7;45 P.M. at the Funeral Home Chapel prior to the service. Friends may call at the residence anytime.
