Loyd Wilson Lowe, age 81, of 919 Medical Park Drive, Mountain City, Tennessee, went to be with the Angels on February 16, 2005 at the Mountain City Care Center following an extended illness. A native of Mishawaka, Indiana, he was born on December 17, 1923 to the late John Robert Lowe and Gladys Wilson Lowe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Lucille Eggers. Loyd had retired from Bailey Meter Company of Wickliffe, Ohio. He was very active in the American Legion Post #7 of Wickliffe, Ohio. Loyd loved Sports Events, especially horse racing. He was a World War II Army Veteran and a member of First Christian Church of Mountain City. Loyd is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Lorrie and John Shumate of Shady Valley, Tn; one sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Cecil Stackhouse of Siler City, North Carolina; one brother and sister-in-law, James Robert and Nina Lowe, of Wickliffe, Ohio; special friend, Charlie Hill Ward and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Loyd will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 18, 2005 from the Hux-Tetrick Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Jim Hutchinson to officiate. Military Graveside Services will be accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2005 from the Sunset Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be Family and Friends of Loyd. Honorary Pallbearers are: Charlie Ward, Dr. Jim Shine, Harold Arnold and John Stout. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Friday, prior to Services at the Funeral Home Chapel. At other times, friends may call at the residence of daughter, Lorrie Shumate, 156 Meadowlark Lane, Shady Valley, Tennessee 37688. Condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.hux-tetrick.com. Family, Friends and Pallbearers are asked to assemble at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Funeral Home to go in procession to the Cemtery. Hux-Tetrick Funeral Home is serving the Lowe Family.
