Loyd Wallace

Loyd Neal Wallace, "Gordy" age 69, of 1478 Bulldog Road, Trade, Tennessee passed away on Sunday October 25, 2015 at Mountain City Care Center. He was born December 26, 1945 to the late Carl Wallace and Thelma Reece Wallace. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers; Jack Wallace and Robert Wallace, and his wife of 34 years, Jo Ann Miller Wallace. He attended Mountain City Church of Christ. He enjoyed collecting knives, bald eagles, and American Flags. He was enlisted in the United States Marines. He retired from Appalachian State University. Survivors include: Daughter, Julie Wallace and fiance Keith Cook of Mountain City, TN, son, John Wallace and fiance Ginnie Eggers, sister, Pearl May of Trade, TN, sister-in-law Mary Wallace of Mountain City, TN, two brothers, Dayton Wallace of Mountain City, TN and Cecil Wallace of Sweet Home, OR, four grandchildren; Jacy Cook, Kacy Cook, Joseph Cook, and James Cook all of Mountain City, special friends; Danny May, Paul May, Joe Cornett, and Gladys Stout. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A graveside service with military honors accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard will be held, Sunday, November 1, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. from Sunset Memorial Park with Joe Cornett officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Jacy and Kacy Cook.
