Obituary for: Lucy H. Payne Lucy H. Payne, age 91, of 5241 Hwy 421 South, Mountain City, Tennessee passed away on Friday, January 10, 2014 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Lucy was born December 23, 1922 at Shouns Tennessee to the late William Bynum Payne and Ollie Potter, Payne in addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by three sisters; Frieda Payne, Carrie Taylor, and Elsie Nichols as well as a brother; Shelton Payne. Lucy was a member of the Nelsons Chapel Baptist Church she loved reading. Survivors include: brother: Earl Payne and wife Stella of Mountain City, TN; Two Nephews; John Taylor, Knoxville, TN. and James Taylor, New Castle, DE. A special friend; JoAnne Reece, Mountain City and her church family. Funeral Services for Ms. Payne will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2014 in the East Side Chapel of Hux- Lipford Funeral Home with Pastor Harry Cunningham officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Interment will be at in the Old Potter Cemetery. Active pallbearers are: Keith Wilson, Clarence Braden, Carl Mast, Eugene Mast, Charlie Greene, and Sam Icenhour. Honorary pallbearers will be: Dr. Floyd Barker, Junior Rudd Martin, and the Men of Nelsons Chapel Baptist Church.
