Luther Edward Gentry

Mr. Luther Edward Gentry, age 86, of 3300 Sugar Creek Road, Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee passed away Thursday evening, March 25, 2010 at his residence.  He was a member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church and a WWII veteran.  He was preceded in death by his parents Jake and Della Gentry, three sisters, three brothers, one grandson; Ronnie Hampton, and one granddaughter; Lorie Atwood.

He is survived by wife; Gladys Gentry of Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee, one sister; Jewel Gentry,  of Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee, Three children: one son; Dean Gentry and wife, Carolyn, two daughters; Helen Harless and Arlene Atwood, all of Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee, six grandsons; Stevie Hampton and wife Lori Beth, Donnie Hampton and wife Kim, Deanie Gentry, Justin Gentry, Jackie Atwood and wife Scarlet, Tracy Atwood and wife Christie, five great-grandsons; Tyler Hampton, Logan Hampton, Austin Gentry, Hunter Atwood and Dalton Atwood, one great-granddaughter; Cooper Atwood, and a very special friend Jerry Weaver

Funeral services for Mr. Luther Gentry will be conducted at 7:00p.m. Sunday, March 28, 2010 from the Chapel of the Teague Funeral Home, 1141 Cold Springs Road, Mountain City, Tennessee with pastor, Mike Bowers officiating.  Music will be provided by Kerry Gentry.  Active pallbearers will be Mr. Gentry’s grandsons and great-grandsons.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Weaver, Chris Summerow, Eddie Parker, Sampson Greer, Wayne Gorseline, Charlie Martin and Nathaniel Martin.  Graveside services and interment will be held 11 a.m., Monday, March 29, 2010 at Stateline Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. prior to the service. 

Mr. Gentry will lie in state Sunday, March 28, 2010, 11:00a.m. until 4:00p.m. in the Chapel of Teague Funeral Home.
