Luther Icenhour, age 95, of 1084 Berry Branch Road, Mountain City, TN passed away Tuesday morning in Mountain City Care Center. He was the son of the late Charlie and Hester Dunn Icenhour. Luther was a member of Valley View United Methodist Church and he enjoyed fishing and hunting. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Woodard Icenhour in 1998; one son Doug Icenhour; three sisters: Hazel Powell, Connie Miller and Pearl Snyder; and two brothers: Burl "Buck" Icenhour an Ernest Icenhour. Survivors include: four daughters: Helen Dugger, Betty Jean Warren, Peggy Horne and husband Jerry and Carolyn Proffitt and husband Tim; one son: Joe Icenhour and wife Sandy; two brothers: Herbert "Squeak" Icenhour and Fred Icenhour; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Joseph Luther Icenhour will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 28, 2013 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Spencer officiating. The family will receive friends from1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside service and interment will follow in Phillippi Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Mountain City Care Center.
