Mabel A. Cretsinger

Mabel A. Cretsinger, age 98, of Limestone, TN, formerly of Shady Valley, TN passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2014 in Johnson City Medical Center. She was born September 10, 1916 to the late Riley D. Garland and Florence Forrester Garland. She was a member of Laurel Avenue Church of Christ. Mabel liked to read, collect dolls and she especially loved the zoo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Acra Cretsinger, one sister, one brother, one half-sister and one half-brother. Survivors include her caregiver who was like a granddaughter Melinda Bright and husband David and their children David Bright, Jr. and Belle Bright. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 26, 2014 in Blevins Cemetery in Shady Valley with Mr. Virgil Cretsinger officiating. Pallbearers will be Travis Blevins, Perry Blevins, Keenan Blevins, Chad Arney, Dean Arney, David Bright and David Bright, Jr. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Blevins Cemetery, %Virgil Cretsinger, 186 Virgil Cretsinger Lane, Shady Valley, TN 37688 or to the Shady Valley Fire Department.
