Mack D. Reece, age 80, of Blue Ridge Senior Living, 3683 Hwy 421 South, Mountain City, Tennessee, was called home on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at the James H. Quillen Veterans Administration Medical Center, Mountain Home, Tennessee. He was born on November 29, 1924 in Bristol, Tennessee, to the late Walter and Hattie Wagner Reece. In addition to his parents, Mack was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Dorothy Shull Reece. Mack was a retired farmer and carpenter. He was a United States Army World War II Veteran. Mack was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, where he had served as Deacon since 1968, was a former Sunday School Teacher, Treasurer and Trustee. Mack is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Linda and Harold Bunting and Patricia and Barry Watson, all of Mountain City, Tennessee; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles B. and Rebecca Reece of Gray, Tennessee; grandchildren: Janet Bragg, David Bunting, Millie Proffitt, Beth Glass, Cheryl Reece, Michael Wilson and Richard Watson, five great grandchildren and a host of special friends. Funeral Services for Mack will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2005 from the Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Haskel Ingram and Rev. Carl Swift to officiate. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Danny Ray Morrell, Ms. Nanny Vaught and the Pine Grove Baptist Church Choir. Graveside Services and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2005 from the Brown Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Bob Ward, Sam Cress, John Gray, Clarence Howard, Jim Snyder and Marvin Arney. Honorary Pallbearers are: Grandsons, Dr. Buddy Clayton, and the Deacons and the Men's Sunday School Class of Pine Grove Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, prior to Services, at the Church. At other times, friends may call at the residence of Linda and Harold Bunting, 368 Harmon Road, Mountain City, TN and Patricia and Barry Watson, 2111 Stout Branch Road, Mountain City, TN and Charles and Rebecca Reeece, 242 Bob Jobe Road, Gray, Tennessee 37615. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Brown Cemetery Fund, c/o Bill Shull, 310 Big Dry Run Road, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683.
