Mae D. Dugger, age 93, of 924 Medical Park Drive, Mountain City, passed away March 16, 2003 at the Mountain City Care Center. She was a native of Johnson County, born on January 16, 1910 to the late Monroe and Carrie Stiver Snyder. Mrs. Dugger was a long-time faithful member of Sugar Grove Baptist Church; where she was one of the two oldest members. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, L.R. "Doc" Dugger; two infant sons; one daughter, Edith Lyle Vannoy; four brothers and three sisters. Survivors: (2) Daughters: Janice McGuire, Butler, TN Carra Lea and husband Tom McGuire, North Charleston, SC (1) Son in law: Fred Vannoy, Bristol, TN (5) Grandchildren (4) Great Grandchildren Several Nieces and Nephews Hux-Lipford Funeral Home is in charge of the Arrangements. Funeral services for Mae D. Dugger will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at the Sugar Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Greene and Rev. Doug Ranshaw to officiate. Burial will be in the Sugar Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Sugar Grove Baptist Church, Dr. John Whitlock, Dr. Robert Griffith, Dr. Peter Hiabach, Ginger Peters, Betsy Gaven, Novella Tester, and the staff of the Mountain City Care Center. The family will receive friends from 7:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home Chapel.
