Obituary for: Mae D. Howard Mae D. Howard, age 96 of 368 Pinecrest Street, Mountain City, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at the Mountain City Community Hospital. Mrs. Howard was a member of the First Christian Church of Mountain City. Her first love was teaching and her children, she also loved quilting, sewing, cooking, flowers and canning. She was a former teacher at Mountain City Elementary School. She was the daughter of the late Maggie Dowell. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband Russell Howard. Also, by one brother JD Barrett and a sister/cousin Margie Arnold. Two grandsons, James Howard and Ian Townsend. Survivors include, one daughter, Jeannie Rollison of Blue Ridge, VA. Four sons, Ronnie Howard of Punta Gorda, FL, Jerry Howard of Mountain City, TN, Bobby Howard of Hardy, VA. and Eddy Howard of Wartz ,VA. One brother Bill Barrett of Bluff City, TN. Eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews survive. The family will receive friends at Hux-Lipford Funeral Home, in the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel, Friday, October 28, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. from the First Christian Church, with Minister Scott Plyler officiating. Entombment will follow in the Sunset Mausoleum of Love. Pallbearers will be friends. At other times friends may call at the residence, 368 Pinecrest Street, Mountain City, TN. at any time.
