Magdalene Grace Roark

December 11, 1939 — February 7, 2012

Magdalene Grace Roark, age 72, of 825 North Church Street, Mountain City, TN passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 in the Franklin Woods Hospital in Johnson City, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Clyde and Clara Davenport Lewis. She was a member of South Side Freewill Baptist Church. Magdalene loved flower gardening, reading, watching and feeding hummingbirds. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Roark, in 2000. Survivors include: two daughters: Valerie Reynolds and husband Jimmy of Mountain City, TN and Connie Cleveland and husband Dr. Lee Cleveland of Piney Flats, TN; one son: Ricky Roark of Mountain City, TN; two sisters: Shirley Winebarger and Norma Jones, both of Creston, NC; two brothers: Oscar Lewis and Willis Lewis, both of Mountain City, TN; three grandchildren: Stephanie Parsons, Miley Reynolds and Ginger Shoemaker; five great grandchildren: Collin, Parker, Brianna, Emma and Stevie. Several nieces, nephews and special friend Lois Eastridge also survive. Funeral services for Magdalene Grace Roark will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2012 from the East Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Shepherd officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Entombment will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2012 in Sunset Memorial Mausoleum of Love. Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Reynolds, Tommy Freeman, Bob Roark, Chris Roark, David Winebarger and Johnny Roark. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Sen, Dr. Jones and Dr. Barker. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to Niswonger Children's Hospital, Johnson City or Johnson County Cancer Support Group, %Flo Bellamy, 3510 Hwy 421 N, Mountain City, TN 37683. Friends may call at the residence, 825 N. Church Street, Mountain City, TN, at any time.
