Margaret Perry Becker, age 78, of 122 Mink Hill Road, Mountain City, TN and formerly of High Point, NC, passed away, Sunday January 11, 2004 at the home of her brother, John C. Calhoun Perry, of Mountain City, TN after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert O. Becker, her parents, Henry D. Perry and Margaret S. Perry and a sister, Frances Dorcas Perry. A life long resident of High Point and a member of the First Presbyterian Church, she graduated from High Point High School in l943 and attended the University of Alabama for three and a half years where upon she became a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. Her life's ambition was devoted to her love for horses and other animals. She participated in a number of horse shows throughout the country, and won several first place blue ribbon prizes during her career. She is survived by her son, David Becker, of Dayton, TN; her brothers: William S. Perry, of Birmingham, Alabama, and John C. Perry, of Mountain City, TN.; two grandsons: Michael and Kyle Becker, of Dayton, TN and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements is being handled by the Henson Funeral Home, of Mountain City . Graveside services will be held 2:00 P. M. Friday, January 30, 2004, at the Oakwood Memorial Park Cemetery in High Point, N. C. with Dr. Jim Wayne officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Johnson County Rescue Squad, 204 Vandilla Street, Mountain City, TN 37683 or to the charity of one's choice.
