Margaret S. Gentry

September 3, 1926 — May 11, 2011

Margaret S. Gentry, age 84, of 351 Pinecrest Street, Mountain City, Tennessee passed Wednesday evening at her residence following a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Crosswhite and Cora Lee Spiva. Ms. Gentry was a member of Mountain City Presbyterian Church. Her hobbies included writing, poetry, spending time with her grandchildren and going to church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Sam Gentry, a son Paul Gentry and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include: one daughter: Melba Shelton of Mountain City, Tennessee; five grandchildren: Chad Wilbur, Ryan Shelton all of Mountain City, Tennessee, Tina Jones and Jesse Gentry both of Florida; three great grandchildren: Bailey Jones, Jacob Jones and Austin Plott. Several nieces, nephews and special friends Selma Fifer, June Williams and Dr. Tom Peake also survive. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2011 from Sunset Memorial Park with Rev. Jim Swoager officiating. She will lie in state Friday, May 13, 2011 in the East Side Memory Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. At other times friends may call at the residence, 351 Pinecrest Street, Mountain City, Tennessee at any time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Johnson County Rescue Squad, 211 Vandilla Street, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683.
